WoW Whore Has 36 Accounts, Raids by Himself !

 36 WoW accounts

In what is perhaps the most shining example of obsession and geekiness I have ever seen, a fella by the name of Bradster has 36 World of WarCraft accounts that he plays on 11 computers simultaneously. He mainly seems to be doing it because he doesn’t like to rely on so many other people to get a raid going, which includes attacking the Alliance capital cities, and on that front I can totally see where he’s coming from.

I hate those Alliance douchebags too, but I’m not about to drop $5711 per year like Bradster is. The best way to get to them is to just live well, right? Well, Bradster doesn’t appear to be letting the Alliance off the hook so easily, as he plans on picking up 36 copies of Wrath of the Lich King on day one, spending around $1500, just so he can have a raid group of level 80 Shamans terrorizing Stormwind as soon as possible.

Read on to see how this crazy man manages to control all of these characters.

From the Bradster himself:

A lot have asked me, why create so many? The main reason is to invade Stormwind and Ironforge when they reach top level. I’m sure the Alliance will put up a big fight when that happens. We’ll see how it goes. If they don’t make level 70 before Wrath of the Lich King, then it will be at level 80. That is my main goal. That will probably happen after I’ve got some PvP gear from the battlegrounds. I’m also planning to do some 25 and 10 man raid instances but that is secondary to my PvP goal. Of course I’ll be doing arenas too to build up PvP gear but I’m not expecting to do that great there because I’m way behind in gear right now. I need to get to level 70 first, then level 80 and by then I will probably have all green gear while most others have been doing the battlegrounds and arenas.

It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule. Not bad considering I’m looking at it like it’s a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft.

32 of my shaman are level 61. One shaman that I had before I started the 32 is at level 70 along with 8 other level 70 classes that I had. My mage, priest and druid are in the center of the circle of shaman in the pictures but they are kind of hard to see. I’ve also got some mages and priests that I’m currently working on that are level 23. Once they are at level 31.9, I will stop working on them, get 16 of them to level 60 with the recruit-a-friend bonus levels and work on the shaman again.

When Wrath of the Lich King is released, I plan to be at the store when it opens and will purchase 36 copies of it. With tax, it should be about $1500 for all of them. Then the shaman are on their way to level 80 along with the priest, druid and mage.

By the way, I have 9 level 80 shaman created on the Murmur PvP realm in the Wrath of the Lich King beta. I mainly tried it out to see how well my computers would work as they are. With the exception of one my desktop computers, I should be fine with the hardware that I have.

I use 3 addons in the game. CT_MapMod is used to give me locations for quests, etc. ClassIcons is another addon that I use to show the class of the target. It helps for PvP encounters. Then the last addon I use is SSPVP2 which is excellent for displaying timers and other things while in the battlegrounds.

For my keys to send to all instances of WoW on my 11 computers, I use Octopus 1.3.2. Maximizer in Octopus allows me to start up all WoW instances at the same time or any individual instance such as if a WoW instance has crashed. It also allows me to shutdown all of the computers at the same time.

Here is a picture of my computer set up:

Not shown to the right is another laptop which runs 3 copies that I just moved there. The keyboard on the right was moved to the top shelf there as I don’t really use that keyboard while playing. I have macros that set my main assist/cast/follow. Any of the eight screens to the front can be set to main assist/cast/follow as my mouse scrolls to them all using Octopus.

Legends of Norrath: Oathbound Preview

Sunday, August 19, 2007 10:26:17 AM (GMT Daylight Time, UTC+01:00)

If there's one trend that was obvious at the 2007 GenCon Game Faire, it's that online collectable games are coming into their own. Several years after Wizards of the Coast proved that people would, in fact, pay real money for digital representations of physical cards. The latest company to get into the act is Sony Online Entertainment. The kicker here is that Sony's not content to just ape the success of other digital CCGs, they're basing their new Legends of Norrath game on the most powerful IP they've got -- the ever-ready EverQuest and EverQuest II MMOs. More than that, though, this new card game is intimately tied into both MMOs in ways that Sony clearly hopes will enhance the success of all three products.
The conceit of Legends of Norrath is that this is the game that the denizens of EverQuest's world play when they're not out adventuring and pulling trains of monsters onto unsuspecting newbies. Supposedly, it's a sort of learning tool for digital avatars, making them aware of great figures and deeds from Norrathian history. The premise of the card game itself is that people playing represent a prisoner bound over on the Plane of Judgment who is found to be redeemable and gifted with great powers to act as a champion of Order against Chaos in the world. The good news is if the meta-textual Moebius-strip of players playing an MMO as characters playing a card game as characters boggles you, Legends of Norrath will also be available as a stand-alone product.

Legends of Norrath has players start out with a basic 55-card starter pack (of 350 cards at launch) for $9.99. $2.99 15-card booster packs will be available for purchase at any time. They then create avatars based on four basic RPG archetypes -- fighter, priest, rogue or mage. Players learn how to play the game by running through a 15-mission single player campaign consisting of card battles against notorious figures for EverQuest lore such as Fippy Darkpaw. Naturally, the true heart of the game comes afterwards when players can go head-to-head with other card game fanatics. One-on-one competition will be available at the game's launch with 2-v-2 PvP planned for shortly thereafter.
What's most interesting about the way SOE is tying the game into the MMO is that it's more than just a menu option leading to a separate program. Players will receive real rewards for succeeding at the game and purchasing booster packs. As with real world card packs, the contents of booster packs will be randomized, but many of them will contain MMO specific "loot cards." When found, the lucky recipient will be able to trade the card in for a piece of EverQuest or EverQuest II loot. Three of the loot pieces for EverQuest revealed to date are "visage" cards that allow players to disguise themselves as a Screaming Banshee, a Crystal Golem or the elephantine Emperor Draygun. EverQuest II loot includes a blue-and-gold patterned "Chelsith Cloak" and "Lightning Hands" that illuminate an avatar's hands in a cackling halo.
Even better, the loot doesn't just go one way. SOE plans on continuing to improve the game after launch, offering tournaments, rankings and ladders, some with possible official sanction that could have in-game prizes such as rare weapons or armor. Booster packs may also begin dropping off creatures in the world. According to Sony, however, such drops will be treated as "Uncommon" in terms of frequency (the company doesn't want anyone to have raid big monster bosses t get rare cards) and they will not replace any other items on the loot table. Legends of Norrath is currently scheduled for release on Sept. 4, although current EverQuest and EverQuest II will get a complimentary starter pack and early access to the game on Aug. 28.

It's the prestigious Golden Joysticks' jubilee year

Wednesday, August 01, 2007 6:08:58 PM (GMT Daylight Time, UTC+01:00)
The Golden Joysticks are, without doubt, the most important gaming awards around. It's the award every developer wants to win. Why? Because its winners are decided entirely on YOUR votes. Developers, journalists, publishers... none of them get a say in it. You do. Last year, there were 540,000 votes cast, and now, for the 25th year, it's time to vote again - and you can do so right here at the official Golden Joysticks website.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Wednesday, August 01, 2007 4:02:23 AM (GMT Daylight Time, UTC+01:00)

It's become standard practice for massively multiplayer online games to release expansion packs to update their core offerings sometime down the road. Since launching in late 2004, Blizzard has placated its 9 million-strong audience with a single expansion, The Burning Crusade, which was snatched up by the human hordes at a record-setting pace in January. Though the two-year development time undoubtedly helped Blizzard's expansion achieve critical praise near-equal to its progenitor, fans of the series have been antsy about how long they'll have to wait for the game's next expansion.

It appears the next add-on may be closer than many may have thought. As the Entertainment Software Rating Board is occasionally wont to do, German software ratings board Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK to its friends) appears to have tipped Blizzard's hand by revealing not only the name of Blizzard's next expansion, but when gamers can expect to see it as well.

Spotted by German community site Gamona, a listing for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King appeared on USK yesterday, accompanied by the tag "GC-demo," implying Blizzard will be showing Wrath of the Lich King at this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. Responding to a request for comment, a Blizzard representative stated, "We have not yet announced any details with regard to future expansions of World of Warcraft."

The listing lends further credence to rumors circulating this week that the next WOW expansion will travel north to the frigid region of Northrend. According to a report on WOW Insider, an anonymous tipster sent world that the Video Games Live orchestra, slated to perform the final concert at this year's BlizzCon, will play three pieces titled "Northrend 1," "Northrend 2," and "Northrend 3." Warcraft aficionados will be quick to note that Northrend is where the Warcraft III hero Arthas Menethil made his stand against the dreadlord Mal'Ganis, only to be corrupted by the powerful yet chaotic Frostmourne sword due to the meddling of Kel'Thuzad.

With the WOW expansion now quite visible on the horizon, a new wrinkle has been added to the much-speculated beta-key giveaway at this year's BlizzCon. For more news from Blizzard and Wrath of the Lich King, check back later this week for GameSpot's coverage of BlizzCon as well as later this month for updates from the Leipzig Games Convention.
