My Dell PC Hell

Thinking of purchaseing a new PC? Buying on line? Was you considering buying a PC from Dell? Please read my experiance then decide. Then think about buying from Dell very seriously. I will edit my Blog when i have more progress from Dell..............Deep Breath....................(mad rage over). Ok so here goes. Short and sweet version!!

I bought a PC from Dell in September that cost £1300. I should have realised how bad things would be then, when customer services asked me to physically sign a online credit agreement. I ask how do i get the pen through the monitor? More the fool me, i continued with the purchase. How i regret that now.

Problem
 1. PC started to lock up when doing the most simple task.
 2. Started to get some serious sound coming from my headset and tried 3 different pairs to make sure it wasn't my Medusa's
 3. Sound kept disappering and PC going to blue screen. Not Good.
 4. PC working ok with sound card disabled.

Ohhh now My Dell Hell
1. Phoned Tech support (do they really pay these people?)

Dell Tech: Good Morning
Me: Hi mate my PC sound card is crashing my PC.
Dell Tech: Did you buy the PC from Dell?
Me: Yeah of course i did. I wouldn't have been on call wait for 40 minutes if i had bought it from Currys.
Dell Tech: Are you happy with your purchase?

2. A engineer calls at my house with a new card. Sound card? Nope a bloody Graphics card.
3. Another engineer should have arrived on the following Monday. Who did not turn up. Costing me £150 in lost work to wait in for him.
4. He turned up the following day with a new Card. Sound card? Nope another bloody Graphics card and new MOBO.

5. Spoke to Dell again (this was about the 10th time) And was told a courier would bring me a new sound card. Did the card come? Nope!! Another days work missed. Costing me £150.
6. Was told he would be here the following day. Did the card come? No!!! Another days work costing me £100.
7. Spoke to Dell agian. They now seem to have a different name against the service tag for my PC.
8. "Have you got a case number"
Me: yes i have....blah blah blah
Dell Tech: Oh i see your having problems Richard!!!
  God give me strength!!!

Ok so now you are getting the picture? Well you probably aren't. Phone calls have cost me over £50. I have been on the phone for over 8 hours. Spoken to the most incompetant people ever. If i delivered that kind of service to my Boss or customers i would be out of a Job!! A PC that has not functioned for over 5 weeks. The PC is only 3 months old.

I really wish i could write down all the calls i had to Dell. Some would make you laugh. All would make you mad...they did me!! All of them really would make you re-consider buying from Dell.I'm just a very very very tiny fish that Dell ain't bothered about. If one of you Dell guys read this..heres something to think about.  "Get rid  of all the tiny little fish. The big ones soon disappear"

I have now sent a formal letter to Dell. Informing them if i dont have a working PC in 14 days i will take legal advice under section 75 of the consumer act.

If you have a Dell Experiance please come and post in this Thread. If you work for Dell may be you could explain your total lack of respect for your customers? I have a feeling you can't or wil not or maybe not got enough morales to? I think all 3.

Please think twice if you are considering buying a PC from Dell.
